Family Guy: Blue Harvest (2007)

After seeing "Something, Something, Something, Dark Side" (2009), I had to check out the cleverly titled "Blue Harvest" episode. When the power goes out at the Griffin household, Steve Griffin entertains the family with a retelling of "Star Wars" (1977) featuring the cast of "Family Guy." The writing is clever and features a bunch of pop culture gags, including a couple of great references to "Airplane!" (1980). Again, the best parts of the show are the shot-for-shot recreations of the effects scenes. Seeing a cel-shaded Millennium Falcon is simply intoxicating. Great stuff!
