Extremely slow and tiresome crime story as a gritty and hardened cop (Steve McQueen) is investigating a strange murder that may be related to the mafia and the city's mayor (slimy Robert Vaughn). Exceptional only for the climactic car chase through the streets of San Francisco which ushered in a whole new age of action cinematography and choreography for car chase films.
