Even though this isn't at all what I was shooting for, I think this drawing
turned out great. The coloring and shading is some of the best I've ever done,
and I really like the tone and texture of the piece. I had originally wanted this
to be a shot of a woman coming through a doorway, about to blow away whoever was
in the room. She could be emerging from her boudoir, delivering death instead of
ecstasy (or perhaps both). Or, she could be entering someone's house through a
back door and
taking them by surprise. I couldn't get those elements to work properly, and
especially not with the outfit I'd decided on, which looked like it belonged in
a graveyard. I tried that angle for a while too, but couldn't come up with a
convincing cemetery background. Curse my meager illustration skills! I finally
settled on what you see here, which I actually like quite a bit.
