This is actually the third time I've used this photo reference, proving that
I not only rip off other people's work, but my own as well. I guess I just
really like the cold and dispassionate feeling that the model captured in that
image. I made the majority of this project a coloring exercise and came up
with a lot of different schemes, but surprise, surprise, I ended up going with
traditional black and white and neutral tones. I tried
experimenting with more complex skin shading techniques as well, resulting in
more dramatic breast definition. The background posed another challenge, but I
think it works pretty well. I came up with the splatter pattern by shooting
paintballs at a piece of paper. That made a huge mess, I might add.
